*The Baby's got blue eye's.. Illustration on the topic of PRIZE.
The Eye monster doesn't own a set of blue eye's, so.. Personally, I think
the baby as a means of escape, he looks trouble!! :)

Original drawing, before my decision to digitally colour the work
rather than paint it.. It's a time issue.

Illustration Friday topic this week - Mermaid. This is drawn and
painted in Gouache designer paint. A4.

Playing with paint, setting out the scene.

After designing my mermaid - traced her and turtle on to the illustration

Sketching out the mermaid sitting on a turtle.. Using tracing paper.

Illustration *Evil Snail for: Illustration Friday topic; VILLAIN. Unfortunately
the piece is larger than A4 which is my scanner limit, so had to blend to half's the
best I could...However, the image is all there regardless. Paint/Gouache

Un-cropped A4 scan without full background.

Photo of artwork on watercolour paper on the desk during painting.

Background before Snail.. Loads of watery paint and blowing :)

Above: Photograph of my hand to draw, and original sketch idea in my notebook for FROST.

An illustration based on the word FROST. Again, drawn, scanned and coloured in photoshop. Once more, I wanted to illustrate something different from the usual vision of snow and Jack Frost. I decided to be a little macabre and have someone writing 'YOU BIT ME' with the finger they lost through FROST BITE. :P

Stage 3: Final illustration - entitled: My notebook doodles. These are various characters I have created throughout my notebooks over the past year. Characters I had ideas for, but never used, so chose to draw some of them together "like a group photo" for amusement and maybe inspire me to use them in future projects. Also my obsession for colour is fully expressed here I think! :)
Stage 2: Colouring in, in photoshop. As you can see, the background is completed first before any attempt on the foreground is tacked has with all my painted work. Although using software enables a faster way to colour - I did take time and great care to make sure all the many colours work together, and I believe I have succeeded in this!

Sage 1: Original drawing - Firstly in pencil and then penned over. Originally drawn to hand paint, but thought that this would be an ideal piece to "brush" up my Photoshop skills gained. So, scanned in and proceeded to commence colourization. :)

Experimenting and just having fun and getting lost within madness for far too many hours than I intended!! Anyhow, I just playing around with pictures by printing photo's on to watercolour paper and playing around and seeing if I can manipulate them. Has I went along (not planning anything) I began to notice "specially with my eye's" how Monty Python it was getting!! Then suddenly I thought of one of my favourite films: The Adventures of Baron Von Munchausen, Thus I shall name this crazy piece of something: The Adventures of Baron Von Mattausen, because I CAN. ;)
The insane photograph that started this journey into darkness :0)

Movie madness! But why I hear you ask? Well, another notebook doodle "Lucky I carry one"! Maybe!! :D

 The Beginning of the painting.
The concept stage, or as I like to put it, doodles of a crazy.. You'll note that there is also a concept for a 'Lost' idea, This might be another piece eventually! ;)

The skier who's rubbish. Annoyed with the rough edges, that's because my printer is PANTS. The actual piece as sharp clear lined sides.
 Drawing ready to paint.
 Mid - way.
Original pen sketch in my notebook. I got the idea for the piece whilst out having a coffee, luckily I carry a notebook. As you can see, its more a rough reminder.
First draft of rough sketches. Just trying to see "if" and how it could work as a single piece.
The first idea in the first place came whilst I was out having that coffee and doodling characters for inspiration.. Then I noticed "the skier" and wanted to do something with it...

What began has a bored Friday night Doodle, became this creation of three crazy, odd characters. At first I was going to name it: The sexy Cat legs gang, but have chosen: I love my stupid head! And its just another excuse to go mad with colour, which is the best bit :)
Finished drawing ready to Paint :)
Mid-way through, as you can see, I work from Background to foreground, because I can build on the paint hiding untidy lines... I do enjoy a clean line, Nice and sharp.

Lonely rabbit falls in love: I felt I needed to do a follow up piece to "Lonely rabbit draws a friend" piece, because that was sad. Now Lonely rabbit is NOT lonely anymore and is really very Happy with Mr Hare, and I'm sure they'll have many bunnies together! :)))) YAY
Reference material and original sketch.
